Disambiguation: Calendar vs. Appointment Scheduling

In some respects, our Calendar and Appointment Scheduling modules are similar to one another. This page is intended to compare and contrast the two.

Licensing: The Calendar module is free, available to all Web Builder users at no additional charge. The Appointment Scheduling module is available for a one-time licensing fee.

Dependency: The Appointment Scheduling module depends upon the Calendar module. That is, all users of the Appointment Scheduling module would also need the Calendar module. The reverse is not true.

Scope: The Calendar module can be configured for multiple calendar accounts. Each account is meant for one person's private daily schedule or one series of events for publishing. It pertains to discrete individual schedules more than the overall team schedule. Within the Calendar module, individual calendar accounts do not coordinate with one another. On the other hand, the Appointment Scheduling module extensively coordinates calendar accounts with one another (without violating privacy) and pertains to the overall team more than the individual players.

Public Interactivity: Your clients visiting your web site can read a calendar you choose to make public, that is, they can only read it. There's not much they can do to interact with a published calendar. On the other hand, they can interact with the Appointment Scheduling module and use it to make an appointment. (In the case of non-published calendar accounts, your clients will not even see them; only your staff will.)
